How to choose the best Maldives Island for you?

There are so many beautiful islands in the Maldives, that choosing one can be really difficult! So, how do you do it? I hope I can help by giving you some things you need to consider when booking your Maldives Holiday. 

When to go to the Maldives?

First of all, lets look at the best times to go to the Maldives, the rainy season in the Maldives falls during our Spring to Autumn (May - November), with the "dry" season from January - March. Peak season in the Maldives is usually between November & April where you can expect dry & sunny weather.

If you are a keen diver the recommended best time to go would be December - May when the seas are usually calm and the sky clear giving great conditions to see the amazing underwater offerings the Maldives has.  

Travel Time

Another really important consideration is travel time. The direct flight from London to Male takes approximately 11 hours. Once you land in Male you will need to take a transfer to your chosen island/resort. This may be via Speedboat, Seaplane or Domestic flight + Speedboat. Once you disembark your international flight you will need to go to your lounge or waiting area for the next leg of your journey, there can be some waiting around as the seaplanes & speedboats need to wait for all passengers to fill before setting off for your resort. 

Dining

Food & drink in the Maldives is pricey! It is worth considering the package you take and whether it includes your drinks & food. 

Size 

Some of the islands are really small, and although most have a variety of dining options it is worth considering whether you are looking for small, intimate and real escapism or whether you like a little life and want to be around lots of people.

Family Friendly or Couples Only

The Maldives has long since been thought of as the ideal Honeymoon destination, and we all consider it to be the epi centre for the romantic hideaway. But many islands now are catering for families and children, and doing it extremely well!
