WHAT TO DO FOR FAMILIES IN COSTA RICA
Watch nesting Turtles at Tortuguero National Park
This vast area of flooded rainforest and marshy islands provides nesting and hatching grounds for endangered green, hawksbill, loggerhead & leatherback turtles. You can take a few days to explore this sleepy Waterworld with boat trips, and canoe tours, and look up in the canopy for sloths & monkeys!
Rafting in Arenal & Zip Lining
Arenal is Costa Rica's Adventure Playground! The Balsa River takes you through moderate & moderately difficult rapids, these provide just enough froth & exhilaration for young & first-time rafters. The Zipline is suitable for children aged 8 and above and after arriving on the gondola you can zig-zag back down the mountainside.
Wildlife Spotting - Jungle Trekking
Costa Rica is home to Sloths, Toucans, various species of Monkeys, Crocodiles, Turtles and so much more. You can find a variety of tours & treks that cater specifically for families of all ages.
We stayed in hotels & sat on beaches that had sloths & monkeys just hanging in the trees above.
